More and more businesses are demanding online marketing strategy advice and education. Due to an overwhelming demand from clients and the business community in general, I am now holding workshops on a monthly basis so that businesses can educate themselves on strategies to increase traffic to their website and convert more leads into sales.

A recent customer survey we put out revealed that our clients would prefer to be educated on Google AdWords, SEO and online marketing strategy, so that they can learn how to make simple and cost-effective changes that will transform their business. Sixty-six percent of participants indicated they asked for more online business and marketing advice from their client manager, while 55 percent wanted further education on Google AdWords strategy.

There are plenty tips and tricks that business owners can learn and easily apply to help them make the most of their online presence. Business owners are mistaken in thinking that AdWords is a magic bullet.  However, there are so many other factors they should be applying to ensure they get the most from their online marketing strategy.  For example, a business may be receiving a number of clicks from a particular ad, but then what happens with that click? Do they navigate away from the page almost immediately? How long do they spend on your website and where do they go? Who is the person clicking on the ad anyway.

An effective internet marketing strategy is all encompassing, and should also include general business protocols and procedures. One of our clients received a phenomenal amount of clicks on his online ad, but not one translated into a sale. We soon discovered the reason – his staff never answered the phone!

In response to client requests for more education and information, we have launched a number of initiatives for clients and other Brisbane business owners, including monthly online marketing strategy sessions where business owners will walk away with thousands of dollars worth of value guaranteed.

When we recently discovered that more businesses would prefer greater overall business and marketing strategy advice and education when it comes to internet marketing, including Google AdWords, we knew we needed to create a serious of events and products to assist.

We are pleased to announce that the first event is taking place in Brisbane 19th October 5pm at Brisbane Technology Park, to provide detailed advice and education to local business owners on their internet marketing strategy, incorporating information on social media and Google AdWords. Its free to attend so we would love to see you there. Go to www.benbradshawevents.com.au to book.

This is where it started. A  customer survey we put out recently revealed that, rather than detailed performance reports on various keywords and ads, businesses understood their Google AdWords campaign was only a portion of their overall internet marketing strategy.

Sixty-six percent of participants indicated they asked for more business and marketing advice from their client manager, while 55 percent wanted further education on Google AdWords strategy. Only 22% indicated they opted for more detailed performance reports. AdWords on its own is not an effective marketing strategy. For example, a business may be receiving a number of clicks from a particular ad, but then what happens with that click? Do they navigate away from the page almost immediately? How long do they spend on your website and where do they go? Who is the person clicking on the ad anyway?

Google +, with 20 million subscribers already, also needs to form an important part of a business’ internet marketing strategy. Business owners have recognised that they need to be a cross all the platforms their customers are likely to be using, including social media. Google + is integrating social media and search into the same platform and this is very significant when it comes to preparing one’s internet marketing strategy.

The great news is that businesses are recognising the importance of integrating their internet marketing strategy so that it might include Google AdWords as well as facebook, Google +,  and blogging for example, rather than just looking at numbers on a page and making a judgement based on that.

An effective internet marketing strategy is all encompassing, and should also include general business protocols and procedures. For example,  one of our clients received a phenomenal amount of clicks on his online ad, but not one translated into a sale. We soon discovered the reason – his staff never answered the phone!

In response to client requests for more education and information, we have launched a number of initiatives for his clients and other business owners. Firstly, SponsoredLinX has introduced a new client dashboard that clients can access at any time to track their AdWord campaign results, as well as the eBusiness Magic series that is available for the general public – a comprehensive DIY guide to internet marketing.

Armed with a bit of know-how, there is absolutely no reason why any business needs to rely on an internet marketing company to look after their campaign for them, unless they prefer to out-source it. In this series, I am sharing what I learned myself though trial and error, but these tips and tricks nonetheless worked outstandingly for my business and those for whom I was contracted.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 19th October and hopefully answering all your social media and Google AdWords questions.

On Thursday 16 June 2011, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout takes place in capital
cities across Australia. The event challenges business and community leaders to
experience homelessness first-hand for one night, raise important money, and with
fresh insight go on to effect change in social opinions on this serious issue. All money
raised goes directly towards the ongoing provision of Vinnies’ homeless services
across the country.

I am delighted to announce that I have registered to take part, and will be spending
one very cold night in my sleeping bag with other high profile QLD CEOs in South
Bank’s Piazza. I need to raise a total of at least $5000 from sponsorships (other CEOs
have generated up to almost $13,000 each so far!) so was hoping to spread the
word to collect sponsors and supporters of this amazing challenge for an extremely
worthwhile cause.

All you need to do is search for my profile on CEO profiles using the link below and
follow the prompts.

About GooglePlex Sydney

On June 1st, 2009, Google opened the doors to its new Sydney headquarters, known as the GooglePlex! Voted by BRW magazine as the best place to work in the country, it has been referred to as “a day-care centre for adults”.

People are often wondering how any work gets done as staff (known as Googlers) are constantly tempted by copious free perks, including games rooms, snack rooms filled with junk food and several chill-out areas themed like oceans and parks.

For a bit of a break they can relax in a hammock, bean bag or lounge chair while playing any of the three major games consoles, pool, table tennis and any number of board games. A live webcam on their desk means they can see what’s free to play with without leaving their desks!

Googlers also get a chef who provides free breakfasts, lunches and dinners that are colour coded by how healthy the meal is. Because the staff tends to put on weight after working there for a while, they’ve coined a new term: “The Google 15” in reference to that extra weight.

The GooglePlex is located in Pyrmont, NSW and now houses over 400 Google workers who have been hard at work putting Australians on the map by being the driving forces for the Google Maps and Google Wave products.

This is the first 6-star Green Star building in NSW and was officially opened by Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce.

The GooglePlex now also acts as host to various industry seminars and events throughout the year, and SponsoredLinx is proud to say that we will be hosting an invite only seminar at the GooglePlex in June this year. We look forward to seeing these offices ourselves and look forward to seeing you all there, in
the mean time, why don’t you take a quick look at the offices: http://media.smh.com.au/?rid=49349
