Adwords Training – Tips & Tricks Day 1
Welcome To 5 days To AdWords Success
Day 1: Getting The Budget Right
Each campaign in Google AdWords is assigned, by you, a maximum daily budget. By capping the amount of money you are willing to spend per day to display your Ads, this budget amount is essentially going to be a major contributing factor in the amount of time your Ads are going to be displayed online in a day, as AdWords displays your ads as often as possible while staying within this daily budget.
It is a good idea to start your daily budget fairly low until you understand how AdWords works and while you refine your AdWords skills to get the account running most effectively. Between $10 and $15 is a good starting point if you want to figure out how it works. Though to remain competitive on the first page of Google you will eventually want to increase that daily budget to between $20 and $30 a day.
If your budget has been set too low and your costs per click are high, you will exhaust your daily budget a lot quicker in a day, thus your Ad won’t get displayed until the following day where the daily budget is still available. You also need to consider the fact that there are going to be certain times where you use your budget up faster (or slower) than other days. This isn’t something that can be predicted but is something that you want to monitor and adjust your activities accordingly.
If you are using your daily budget too quickly and not getting a strong ROI, you may want to look at optimising your Ad so that the budget lasts longer (an optimised account is going to have a lower CPC, so you won’t use your entire budget up as fast).
Having an appropriate daily budget is going to help you capture more of the available traffic for you and maximize your Ad exposure which means a strong ROI. Google does make recommendations in relation to your budget amount. Just be aware that Google doesn’t know your individual circumstances and there are other ways to get the most out of your account other than simply increasing you daily budget as per Google’s recommendations (EG management and optimisation of your Ads).
